Car air conditioning
South East QLD

Not blowing cold? We service and repair air conditioning on most makes and models of passenger vehicles, utes and 4WDs — and the first 30-minute health check is free.

Car Air Conditioning

What we do

Our workshop holds Australian Refrigeration Council (ARCtick) approval and our technicians are licensed to handle refrigerant. We don't just top it up and send you off: we find why it stopped working, fix the fault and make sure it stays cold.

  • Free 30-minute A/C health check (by appointment)
  • Regas and refrigerant recovery (R134a and R1234yf)
  • Leak detection and repair — hoses, seals, condensers, evaporators
  • Compressor, clutch and drive belt replacement
  • Electrical faults — relays, pressure switches, blower motors, climate control
  • Annual A/C servicing to keep the system healthy
  • Odour treatment and cabin filter replacement

Sound familiar?

  • Air isn't cold, or only cold sometimes
  • Musty smell when the A/C runs
  • A/C works while driving but not at idle
  • Hissing, rattling or a compressor that keeps cycling
  • Fan only works on some speeds
  • Water inside the cabin or a damp passenger floor
Free · about 30 minutes · no obligation

Good to know

Common questions

How much does a car aircon regas cost?

It depends on the vehicle and refrigerant type. We'll always check the system first — if it's lost gas, there's a leak, and regassing alone is throwing money away. Call us for a price on your vehicle.

How often should I service my car's air conditioning?

We recommend a full service every 12 months and running the A/C for at least a few minutes every week, even in winter, to keep the seals lubricated.

Is the A/C health check really free?

Yes. It takes about 30 minutes by appointment — long enough to check pressures, vent temperature, the cooling fans and the compressor clutch properly rather than guessing. If it needs work, we'll quote before doing anything.

My A/C is cold while I'm driving but goes warm when I stop — what's wrong?

That's one of the most common faults we see. At speed there's enough air flowing through the condenser to shed heat; sitting still there isn't, so if the condenser fan isn't running or the system is low on refrigerant, the pressure climbs and the cooling drops away. Worth checking early — running a system that's low puts the compressor under stress.

The A/C makes a strange noise when I switch it on — is that a problem?

Usually, yes. A squeal as it engages often points to the drive belt or the compressor clutch. A rattle or grinding can be the clutch bearing or the compressor itself. A hiss or gurgle after switching off is normally just refrigerant settling. Noises tend to get worse, and a compressor that fails can put metal through the whole system — so it is far cheaper to look at it early.
